The Velocity of Light

The speed of light is a fundamental constant of nature. In our understanding of Einstein's Relativity, it is the link between the notions of space and time. The measurement of the velocity of light is elementary in principle, but because c is so great, the measurment is difficult in practice. Many of the difficulties have been overcome with the use of lasers and fast photodetectors.
